ANCHOR BAY ENTERTAINMENT PRESENTS
“MASTERS OF HORROR: JOHN McNAUGHTON’S “HAECKEL’S TALE”

Premiering November 14, 2006

TROY, MI – Anchor Bay Entertainment continues the Masters of Horror series (recently winning an Emmy™ for Best Theme Music) with the November 14th DVD release of “Haeckel’s Tale” directed by John McNaughton (Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer). SRP is $16.98 and pre-book is October 1, 2006.

John McNaughton helms “Haeckel’s Tale,” based on a short story by famed horror novelist Clive Barker and adapted for the screen by series executive producer Mick Garris in association with horror legend George A. Romero. “Haeckel’s Tale” is a sexually-charged cautionary tale about the capriciousness of memory and the consequences of dabbling in black magic. When Ernst Haeckel (Derek Cecil) finds shelter in a secluded cabin deep in the New England countryside, his hosts impart one explicit instruction: no matter what he hears, he cannot go outside. When he hears the cries of an unseen baby, mixed with horrifyingly guttural groans, Haeckel impulsively disobeys and becomes embroiled in an orgy of the undead. Jon Polito (Miller’s Crossing, Barton Fink, “Desperate Housewives”) co-stars.

JOHN McNAUGHTON’S “HAECKEL’S TALE” includes the following extras:
