So, we go to scouts last night. Our troop leader said he had to ask us if any of us were offended by having the word God in The Pledge Of Allegiance!?!? A few of us were offended that he had to ask. Then one of us pointed out that God also appears in The Scout Oath. Did anyone down at the Scout office mention that? He said they didn't.
Okay, WTF?
It's the BOY SCOUTS! The BOY SCOUTS have always been the bastion of goodness throughout the land. They fought for not having gays in the troops. Good for them! Stand for something! The Scouts are morally upright young men who are trying to do good in the world and show boys what can be a fun and rewarding experience. Plus it is the Boy Scouts of AMERICA!!! We have a freedom to do what we want. The Pledge of Allegiance has the word God in it. So does the Scout Oath. Offended? Tough! Don't like it? Once again, TOUGH! The founders of our country came here for religious freedom to worship GOD in our own way. THat's the whole thing in a nutshell folks. Don't like it? Leave. I'm pretty sure we can do okay without you here dragging us down and trying to make us feel bad for doing what we believe in.
That and I never understood the whole anti GOD thing to begin with. God created us in his own image. He loves us so much it's not even funny. He sent his only son to die on the cross for us because we were too damned stupid to repent properly for our sins. He lays it out for us in very simple terms and we still don't get it. So, he figures he'll make it simple. He sends us Jesus to explain what is up. Makes it uber easy to do and then defeats death before our very eyes.

Love one another. And that means everyone. Even that asshole down the street who grates on your last nerve. Everyone means everyone. Not everyone except for that bastard who cut you off in traffic a week ago.
And believe that Jesus is the way to eternal salvation. God loves us and wants us to spend time with him forever. He gives us free will to prove his eternal love for us. It's such a brief time here why not make time for him so that you are assured of your boarding pass to eternity.
Beats the alternative.
So, once again I went on a tirade. I'd apologize if I thought I was wrong, but I know that I'm not.
