Friday Wrap Up
Okay, I've taken to listen to the Mancow show on a local station here in town. WZUU The ZOO! on 92.5 FM. I used to be a devout Bob & Tom fan, but after a while they just started to annoy me. Mancow is different. He is pretty obnoxious and believes in total free speech. I think he would rather have you call him and complain then tell him how great he is.
Anyway, there was this segment where he explained that a car bomb in Iran got through a checkpoint. It was two people and their two children strapped down in the back. The soldiers gave it a once over, smiled at the kids and let them through. The car went ahead, the adult jumped out and the car bomb detonated with the children inside.
Have we learned nothing? Has it been too long since Vietnam when children would have bombs strapped to them and sent running into squadrons of soldiers? It was a mess and we lost. We were always going to lose because it was a no win situation and in the end we just finally got out.
Over 3000 American soldiers have lost their lives in this four year war. It's time to go. We never should have been there in the first place.
Last night I saw a WWII flick, can't remember the name, sorry, and there was a scene where these poor British soldiers had been beaten down badly and were in ranks waiting for instructions. The camera panned down the length of the troops and all you saw was exhaustion and despair.
People, this really has to stop. War is bad. Always has been always will be. This is weird because one of my favorite things to do is play board games that are wargame simulations. I do manage to seperate myself from the actual wars and just boil it down to statistics. A little coldhearted, but when it's purely strategy and there is no actual lives on the line it is a fun way to while away and afternoon.
I do know that bitching on my MySpace blog will have little, if any impact on the war like nature of mankind. I mean, wasn't the Trojan War just two guys fighting over pussy? That is not good.
Our soldiers need our support. They are doing what the armchair generals are telling them to do. Their commander in chief is a redneck madman who must be stopped. Thankfully, his time is almost up and hopefully we will survive that. All presidents who were elected in a year that ended in zero have been assasinated or at least, shot at. Bush is waaaaay overdue for this to happen to him.
So, in the end, remember our brave soldiers. Pray for them as they fight a war that we have no business being in. Pray for their safe return and a quick ending to this entire farce.
And the next time a terrorist group or a madman tries to take over the world handle it like adults. Send in the finest wetworks team in existence, drag that person out into the streets and put a bullet in his face on worldwide news.
The kid gloves are off people. Wars are bad and the people who propogate them are even worse.
Peace. (Well, except for that whole shooting madmen in the face thing, kinda
wonky, but I really don't see another solution at this point. Maybe I watch
too many war movies)
