Recently I went to watch 300. Magnificent flick! I loved it! Enough that I refuse to review it. Go see it yourself. You'll be glad you did.

Or will you?

I have read so many negative things abut the movie. People complaining that it wasn't true to historical facts, that they added stuff from Frank Miller's comic. I don't hear Frank complaining so, he must like the movie. Plus the extra stuff gave us a much needed set of breathers between the intense action pieces.

But, back to the complaining.

I had never seen anything by director Zack Snyder before. There's that Dawn Of The Dead remake, but I don't, as a rule, watch remakes. Especially when they remake something I am very fond of. Romero already made the movie. I own it and have watched it well over a hundred times.

I don't need to see any remake of Dawn Of The Dead.

BUt, with 300, Mr. Snyder did an excellent job. It could not have been easy working with all that green screen. For him or the actors. But, the movie is, as I mentioned before, excellent.

You don't like the film? Fine. I respect your right to not like the film for whatever reason you may have.

But, guess what?

That works both ways.

You have to endure my ranting and raving over the same film for the exact same reason I have to let you diss what may be one of the most entertaining things I have seen in a theater in quite some time.

Sucks, don't it?

And if it really bothers you. If you really can't stand this or any other film, then you have to do one thing;

Fix it.

Make a better film. Pitch a better script. Do whatever it takes to get what you believe to be the best vision of whatever it is you want to say on the screen.

Go on. Do it.

If you can complain that passionately about it then do something to make it better. Because siitng here on the net complaining about it will do nothing to improve what you believe in your heart could be much, much better.

You have fun with that. In the meantime, 300 was a fantastic film. I had a blast taking my lovely wife and four kiddies to see it and will probably see it again in the theaters which is something that I NEVER do.

300

Perfect film.

Good job Mr. Snyder.

I'm outta here.
