First of all, let me say that cheap sex shots and Kate Beckinsale in leather
is not enough to get me to enjoy a movie. Frankly, I was embarrassed to watch
anything as childish as that in a film that is supposed to be so classy.
So, if you are a fan of the series then you will probably not like me a great
deal when you finish reading. I went into the first movie with the hopes that
I would see a first class Vampire/Werewolf film. With the exception of the wirework
and most of the stunts the first one was so-so.
And if it were not for the special effects here, the second one would not even
make it that high on the list.
You know, I just can't seem to do it. I have set since Friday trying to come
up with a way to make this stinker sound good and I just can't seem to do it.
And I wanted to, really. I thought about it all day yesterday but outside of
some good special effects this thing is a massive waste of time.
It makes Van Helsing look like Gone With the Wind or something like that. Come
on, Hollywood. Is this the best you can do?
Look viewers, if all you want is some fake sex and leather clad girls, there
are places on the Internet where you can get that for free. Don't waste your
time watching this. Go rent Evil Dead. Heck, go rent Dead Alive or even Night
of the Living Dead. At least these were Good films.
Yes, the action scenes were bigger. This does not equal better. The camera work
and afore mentioned effects were good, especially the scene with the winged
vampire king chasing the truck. But, you know even that scene seems familiar.
Face it. If you are still going to this turkey, it is because you probably enjoyed
the original and want more. More fights between vampire and werewolves, blood
and Kate in leather or less. This film will be perfect for you.
Go. Have fun. And when you are ready for a film about Werewolves that is actually
good, check out Wolfen or American Werewolf in London. Or just about any of
Paul Naschy's Werewolf movies. Crist, even I was a Teenage Werewolf is better
then this.
