Tim Lasiuta A Biographical sketch My name is Tim Lasiuta, and this is my story. I am a Canadian free lance writer who lives in Red Deer, Alberta. My early years were spent in central Alberta. As a youth I voraciously read the Classics, Penguin novels, comic books, Doc Savage, The Phantom, and other fantasies that fed my young imagination. As a youth, I felt a drive to create, either writing or drawing. But, my University life led me to the Sciences, where I studied Physics and Mathematics. However, being the mid 80's were upon us, I ventured into the world of electronic sales. Several jobs later, I found myself staring at a blank piece of paper, and there started my first novel. Since that time I have developed a love for comic books into a series of interview columns for Comic Buyers Guide, articles for Scoop from Diamond Distributors, and my own series of western web pages for Penguin Comics. I have delved into the world of movie stars, B Westerns and Movie serials for Classic Images, True West, The Old Cowboy Picture Show, The Silver Bullet (a Lone Ranger newsletter), and Wildest Westerns. My first book, "Collecting Western Memorabalia" is due out later this year from McFarland Publishing of North Carolina. A second project, in the seminal stage, is a fine art book on a friend of mine, Joe DeVito from New York. The projected publishing date for that is late 2004 from Watson Guptil. My internet work is found on several sites, a short list of which follows. www.suite101.com/welcome.cfm/western_collectibles www.penguincomics.net Under Westerns www.thecrimsoncollector.com www.blueagle.com A reciprocal link to Suite 101 For a fuller list of my credits, just check out tim lasiuta under your favourite search engine. My professional qualifications include membership in the Western Writers of America, and my Bsc in Physics and Math. Every writer has a dark side. I can say that I killed Rex Allen. That*s true, he died from a heart attack in his driveway AFTER he read part of my Western star tribute. I would like to think that he enjoyed it so much that, well you know. My personal life is lively and full. I have been happily married for 16 years, and have 4 children. Two girls, and two boys fill our house with toys, books, and items that they have borrowed, and not yet returned. My future goals include publishing my 10th book, writing and promoting a couple of comic book mini-series, and maybe even developing my own comic strip. God willing, I*d even trade my facial hair for more than a shine on my forehead! I trust this helps you. Yours respectfully,
Tim Lasiuta
