Sam Noir: Samurai
Detective Issue # 1
Writer: Manny Trembley Artist: Eric A. Anderson
This is put out my the Image/Shadowline imprint. They didn't include who drew
it or wrote it (Doug, I found that out, and placed it for you. Editor), but
it is a perfect blend of film noir and samurai legend. Sam comes across as a
hard boiled detective firmly placed in feudal Japan. He is on a case when his
case, a beautiful woman that he falls for,
hard,
gets herself killed. This sends Sam on a killing spree to find the people who
ordered the death of his lady love.
The artwork is a great homage to the old film noir style and the writing is
dead on accurate for this kind of thing.Definitely a book worth looking into
if you're sick of the Big Two and all their super hero schtick.
