HUNTER KILLER

Issue #12

Now the whole Artist/Writer thing up there is a guess. I assume that Waid wrote it because that’s his bag, but you can never be sure, but, again, they didn’t send me a page that says otherwise.

This one leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth. For some reason it is reminiscent of Rob Liefeld’s early work. I double checked and there weren’t a lot of people’s feet in view. Remember when Liefeld couldn’t draw feet. A coincidence I’m sure, but let’s press on.

Seems there are these super powered beings led by someone named Cassandra who wants this guy to kill someone named Morningstar. Then these other two people named Sam (she’s a girl) and Wolf (he’s not) to throw a monkey wrench in Cassandra’s plan.

Seems that Morningstar is trying to use this guy named Network’s ability to warp reality for … something. I have no idea what because I only got these six pages.

Now, it’s not always bad to just get a few pages to judge a comic. As long as it isn’t like a Season Finale or something where they’re trying to wrap up loose ends and launch next season’s goodies. Oh, oops! That’s exactly what this issue is. Sorry.

And in the end, what is up with these variant covers? Didn’t we learn our lesson in the nineties when Marvel would release a book with fifteen different variant covers that all meshed to become some sort of space time continuum device? Didn’t we? I guess not. Just pick the best cover and go with that.

Oh, and learn to draw feet, Rocafort!
