Thunder
Lizards! How to draw fantastic dinosaurs
Earlier this week I received a review copy of "Thunder
Lizards! How to draw fantastic dinosaurs" by Steve Miller,
published by Watson-Guptill.
300 black and white illustrations, 50 color illustrations,
re-creations of dinosaurs skeletons, muscles, soft tissues,
65 step-by-step how to draw sequences plus a great
introduction that explains the process used by scientists
and artists (paleo-artist!) to reconstruct dinosaurs from
jaws
to tails. The list of contributing artists include: Arthur
Adams
Brian Baugh Brett Booth Scott Hartman Gregory S. Paul
Bernie Wrightson and Steve Miller
But how can you publish a book on dinos without even
mentioning Frank Cho?
Don't worry, there's two illos by Frank Cho : one on page
13 (reproduction of the Sunday's strip :Therapy) and another
on page 19 (partial reproduction of one of the daily strips
of the 'virtual dino hunting' storyline).
Soft cover, inside pages very well printed on heavy weight
high gloss paper,
cover price: $ 19.95 US ($15.56 at Amazon, just checked
the price, it's on stock and eligible for free shipping)
Worth every penny.

Description
Think
dinosaurs are kid stuff? Think again.
Remember
Walking with Dinosaurs and Jurassic Park?
Everyone is fascinated with dinosaurs—the bigger and more
realistic, the better. Here at last is a dinosaur drawing
book for adults, focusing on anatomy and encompassing the
latest scientific research to show serious artists exactly
how to draw the most realistic and compelling dinosaurs
possible.
Thunder Lizards covers everything from the terrifying tyrannosaurus
rex, to gigantic allosaurus, to wiry velociraptors, to plodding
apatosaurus — more than 50 dinosaurs in all, plus flying
and swimming reptiles and tips on drawing dynamic dinosaur
sequences.
Every type of dinosaur in one complete drawing book? It's
dino-mite!
